5th EPNS Research Meeting 2016

 The 5th EPNS Research Meeting will be taking place in the Centre for Learning and Teaching, Virchowstraße in Essen.

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS

A maximum of 180 participants, divided into the 9 workshops. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

 

REGISTRATION FEES (includes registration, coffee breaks. all meals without alcoholic drinks):

  • Early registration (until 31 July 2016) 80 Euro
  • Late registration (from 1 August 2016) 100 Euro

Friday Evening Dinner at Restaurant Hülsmannshof: there is an additional charge of 35 Euros

 

There will be a plenary session focusing on two diverse topics:

  • the role of imaging in the field of pediatric neurology: Dr Nicole Wolf
  • career aspects of young colleagues: Professor Ruth Grümmer

 

There will be 9 different working groups:

  1. Neonatal Neurology, Neurodegeneration and Neuroprotection
  2. Neurometabolics
  3. Ataxia
  4. Developmental Neurology
  5. Neuromuscular disorders
  6. Autoimmune inflammatory diseases
  7. Epilepsy
  8. Pediatric Stroke
  9. Movement disorders

 

BURSARIES:

  • CV
  • recommendation letter from the head of your department
Conditions of the bursary application:
  • applicants must currently practice in Europe; this is taken as the region for which the European Office of WHO is responsible http://www.euro.who.int/en/countriesc
  • applicants must be presenting a project or their work at the Research meeting.
  • If more than 10 applications are received, priority will be given to the youngest applicants.
Deadline for receiving bursary applications is:  15 July 2016

The EPNS Scientific Committee will make the final decision about the successful bursary award.

Applicants will receive a response by: 15 August 2016

All bursary applicants will need to register on-line, pay the registration fee, make their own hotel reservation and travel arrangements. The bursary recipients will be reimbursed after the research meeting.

 

EPNS RESEARCH PRIZE:

There is an EPNS award at every research conference The EPNS Research Prize (2500 euro) this year will be awarded to two young neurologists who present an outstanding, innovative idea in the area of research in Paediatric Neurology. A commission of the board members will decide the prize recipients.

PRESENTATIONS AND/OR ABSTRACTS:

Presentations and/or abstracts regarding the workshop topics can be sent to the local organising committee. Further information will be provided.

All paediatric neurology colleagues are invited to join the research meeting and to bring up ideas for other working groups!

 

LETTER OF INVITATION:

The organisers will be pleased to send a letter of invitation to any individual requesting one, once their registration and payment for a congress ticket have been received. It is to be understood that such an invitation is intended to help potential participants raise travel funds or obtain a visa. It is not a commitment on the part of the congress to provide any financial support. Applications have to be received by the congress organiser before 30 September 2016. A refused visa application is no reason for refund.
